
Sue, Ovarian Cancer that Spread Throughout the Body
A 68-year-old grandmother of three from Bethesda, Md., Sue describes herself as "kind of a jock." Her passion is golf and she loves running around in the backyard with her 8-year-old twin granddaughters and 6-year-old grandson.
But, in 2003, the discovery of a tumor in her abdomen – the result of metastasized ovarian cancer that she had been diagnosed with six years prior – threatened to drastically change the life she enjoyed.

Scott, Prostate Cancer
What he thought was an ordinary drive home from watching a spring training baseball game in Ft. Myers, Fla., turned out to be a defining moment in Scott’s life.
"I was devastated," said Scott, who had just turned 61. "I thought I was too healthy and too young. I thought I was invincible and that there was no way my biopsy would show cancer."

Danny, Stage IV Melanoma that Spread to the Lung
In December 2004, there was a death warrant out for Danny. The 55- year-old Houston native had a routine CT scan that revealed a tumor the size of a lime on his left lung. A biopsy showed that the tumor was malignant, a result of skin cancer that he had been diagnosed with almost four years before.

Donald, Brain Tumor and Prostate Cancer
"When you’re diagnosed with a brain tumor, you don’t hear much more after they say the words ‘brain tumor,’" said Donald, a 71-year old from Mountain View, Calif. "I was shocked. I had no reason to believe there was anything that seriously wrong with me."

Charles, Prostate Cancer
