Suzanne Winter is the President and CEO of Accuray, bringing more than 30 years of healthcare med tech experience. She joined Accuray as Senior Vice President, Chief Commercial Officer in October 2019. Prior to joining Accuray, Suzanne held senior executive roles spanning general management, commercial and business development across a range of healthcare industry segments, including diagnostic imaging, cardiovascular, neurocritical care and surgery. Most recently, she served as Group Vice President Medtronic Diabetes where she was responsible for $1.4B Americas region leading a 2,000-person commercial organization. Before Medtronic, Suzanne was the General Manager of GE Healthcare’s Interventional, X-ray and Mammography business.

Suzanne earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard University Graduate School of Business in Boston, Massachusetts and a Bachelor of Science degree with a specialization in chemistry from Saint Lawrence University in Canton, New York.

 

ALI PERVAIZ

Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer

Ali Pervaiz was appointed Chief Financial Officer of Accuray in May 2022. In his role as CFO, Ali directs the global finance organization and oversees all aspects of Accuray Incorporated’s finance function. Ali joined Accuray in August 2020 as Vice President, Global Commercial Operations, leading the transformation of the company’s business processes and driving revenue performance. During his 18-year career in the medical technology industry, Ali has established a proven track record for delivering results and creating shareholder value.

Prior to joining Accuray, Ali was with GE Healthcare for over 15 years in senior financial and operating leadership roles. He began his finance career in GE’s prestigious Corporate Audit Staff program, a rigorous multi-year rotation through different divisions used to groom future leaders before assuming increasing levels of responsibility within the Finance organization. Ali previously held the roles of Chief Financial Officer for two GE Healthcare business units including the $1.3B US Imaging Equipment and $650M US Life Support Solutions business.

Ali received a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, a Master of Science in healthcare technologies management from the Medical College of Wisconsin and a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Marquette University.

SANDEEP CHALKE

SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, CHIEF COMMERCIAL OFFICER

Sandeep Chalke is the Senior Vice President, Chief Commercial Officer at Accuray, bringing more than 25 years of medical device expertise in commercialization, business development and operations. In his role at Accuray Sandeep has responsibility for the global commercial function, including the organization’s sales, service and operations teams.

Prior to joining Accuray, Sandeep was president, Asia-Pacific and Latin America regions at Vyaire Medical, a global respiratory care manufacturer, where he had full P&L responsibility along with oversight of select manufacturing sites. Prior to Vyaire, Sandeep held various global leadership positions at Medtronic, Acelity, Inc. and GE Healthcare, where he led the development of new products and service solutions, established new markets and partnerships with government organizations and private payors to drive revenue growth, margin expansion and technology leadership.

Sandeep earned a Master of Business Administration degree in international marketing from Leicester University, United Kingdom and Medical Electronics Engineering, Bombay University, India.

SETH BLACKSBURG, M.D., MBA

Seth Blacksburg is the Senior Vice President, Chief Medical Officer at Accuray. In this role he is responsible for leading the organization’s global clinical strategic approach, including customer education, patient access and reimbursement, and clinical research and publication strategy, while bringing the insights and voice of the customer necessary to help drive transformative technological innovations. Dr. Blacksburg also oversees the global downstream marketing and health economics teams, aiming to strengthen strategic positioning, amplify brand outreach, enhance market understanding, and strengthen customer engagement.

Dr. Blacksburg previously served as the company’s vice president, chief medical officer for the Americas (North and South America) regions. Prior to joining Accuray, he was chairman of radiation medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital, a part of Northwell Health, the largest private employer in New York (state). Dr. Blacksburg managed the clinical oversight and strategic development of the department. He also served as a key member of the hospital’s cancer committee, medical board and national accreditation programs for breast and rectal cancers. During Dr. Blacksburg’s tenure with Lenox Hill the cancer program achieved Commission on Cancer accreditation and the department patient volume increased significantly.

Dr. Blacksburg is a board-certified radiation oncologist who earned a master of business administration degree while concurrently completing his medical studies. He is highly skilled in all facets of radiation oncology, including stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) and radiosurgery for prostate, breast, and CNS cancers, and other tumor sites, brachytherapy, and integrating radiation with immunotherapy. Dr. Blacksburg is also considered a thought leader in medical informatics.

JESSE CHEW

Senior Vice President, Chief Legal Officer

Jesse Chew serves as our Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer. In this role, he leads our global legal function. He joined Accuray in January 2014 as Corporate Counsel. Prior to his tenure at Accuray, Jesse practiced corporate securities law at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, P.C. from October 2007 to January 2014. 

Jesse holds a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and political science from the University of California at Davis.

JIM DENNISON

Jim Dennison is the Senior Vice President, Chief Quality & Development Officer, bringing more than 20 years of experience in quality assurance and regulatory affairs. In this role, he will lead global quality, regulatory/government affairs, program management and engineering, with overall responsibility for the timely introduction of the organization’s new technologies. Jim joined Accuray in 2020 as Senior Vice President of Global Regulatory and Quality and was subsequently promoted to his current position in 2024.

Prior to joining Accuray, Jim was employed at GE Healthcare, most recently as Senior Executive Vice President, Quality and Regulatory Affairs. Jim’s tenure with GE Healthcare spans nearly 15 years in various executive leadership roles in quality and regulatory affairs, guiding their imaging and overall healthcare businesses. He also has held leadership roles with Medtronic, Mallinckrodt Pharmaceutical and Baxter Healthcare.

Jim earned his Master of Business Administration degree from Keller Graduate School of Management and Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry/biology from the University of Wisconsin.

TODD M. BROWN

Todd Brown is Senior Vice President, Global Commercial Operations and Service bringing more than 25 years of business and finance experience supporting customers and driving growth at start-ups, mid-sized and global enterprises. He is responsible for leading the development and execution of a global strategy to deliver an exceptional customer experience throughout the lifecycle of their relationship with Accuray.

Most recently, Todd was employed at GE HealthCare, where he held multiple leadership positions over his 10+ years tenure, including Vice President & General Manager, Healthcare Service, US & Canada. Todd was responsible for the ~4,700 employee organization, ensuring quality and timely service on over 2 million in assets under contract. Under Todd’s guidance, focused growth programs and cost management, his team delivered both revenue and profit growth in 2020 and in 2021. Before GE Healthcare, Todd held various management positions at ABB Inc., a leader in power and automation technologies and Sani-Matic, Inc., a designer and manufacturer of sanitary cleaning equipment for the Food & Beverage and Pharmaceutical industry.

Todd earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, with a double concentration in accounting and management, from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

ROGER CAO

PRESIDENT AND GENERAL MANAGER, APAC REGION

Roger Cao is President and General Manager of the APAC (Asia-Pacific) region at Accuray, helping to drive increased market share, operational performance and positive financial results for the area. He joined Accuray in 2013, was appointed CEO of the Accuray-CNNC joint venture in 2019, and transitioned back to Accuray as President and General Manager in January 2022.

Before joining Accuray, Roger spent the majority of his career gaining medical device commercialization, business development and sales expertise with Siemens China Ltd. During his tenure with Siemens he held multiple senior leadership positions including most recently, as the Senior Vice President and Division Cluster Leader of the Imaging and Therapy Division for Northeast Asia where he was responsible for the 1.0 billion USD  diagnostic imaging product portfolio and IT product and service businesses. Roger has also served as resident radiologist at ZhongShan Hospital and Fudan University Medical School, and faculty teacher at ZheJiang Medical School.

Roger earned a Medical Bachelor degree from ZheJiang Medical University, a Master’s in Medicine degree with an emphasis in CT imaging diagnosis from Shanghai Medical University, and an EMBA from CheungKong Graduate School of Business.

XAVIER DE MISOUARD

PRESIDENT AND GENERAL MANAGER, EIMEA REGION

Throughout my career it has been my personal goal to be involved in helping to improve the lives of people diagnosed with serious medical conditions. I joined Accuray more than 15 years ago and I’m passionate about our unrelenting focus on developing innovative products that truly make a difference in patients’ lives.

Xavier de Misouard is President and General Manager of the EIMEA (Europe, India, Middle East & Africa) region at Accuray. In this role he is responsible for achieving business objectives and increasing market share in the region. Xavier leads the cross-functional Accuray team and distributor commercial network, ensuring their performance aligns with the success of the region.

Xavier brings more than 30 years of global medtech experience with a demonstrated track record of operational excellence in capital equipment. He joined Accuray in 2006 as Director of Operations, Europe to launch the EIMEA operations and was subsequently promoted to VP EIMEA & International Operations, before taking on his current role. Prior to joining Accuray, Xavier was employed for 18 years at Siemens Medical Solutions (now Siemens Healthineers) in various roles of increasing responsibility, both in France and in the U.S.

Xavier earned a Master’s degree in Technology, Management & Finance from the University of Caen.

JOHN M. DUNN

SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, CHIEF INFORMATION & SECURITY OFFICER

John Dunn, as the Senior Vice President, Chief Information & Security Officer (CIO/CISO) at Accuray, leads the development of robust information systems, the alignment of data for insights, and the cultural shift to leverage AI solutions for productivity. Additionally, he is entrusted with the vital responsibility of ensuring cybersecurity, safeguarding the security of customers, employees, and corporate data.

Dunn is a forward-thinking, strategic, and collaborative leader with more than 20 years of business intelligence, enterprise technology and cybersecurity experience. Prior to joining Accuray in October 2023, John held roles as the Enterprise CISO and North America CIO of GE Healthcare.

John received a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance, Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering from Marquette University. John is currently a board member for the National Technology Security Coalition, a non-profit, non-partisan trade association serving as the voice of CISOs to help improve national cybersecurity. He is also Certified as an Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).

MELANIE RIVERS

SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, CHIEF HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICER

“Human Resources is a function that can support a variety of businesses in any industry with much of the work being transferable, but when I think about why I work at Accuray it is because of the contribution I am able to make to support the mission of helping cancer patients through radiation therapy technology. This mission motivates me in my everyday work to improve as many lives as possible.”

Melanie Rivers is Senior Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer at Accuray, with responsibility for leading global HR operations, including compensation, benefits, learning and development, and communications directed at building a strong, engaged team. Additionally, she is the primary executive in charge of guiding the advancement and adoption of the organization’s Diversity & Inclusion initiatives. Melanie joined Accuray in 2021 as Vice President Global Human Resources and was promoted to her current position in 2024.

Melanie has a proven track record of aligning human capital strategies with business goals to deliver results through improved performance, engagement, profitability and growth. Prior to joining Accuray, Melanie spent nearly four years as the Global Senior Human Resources Director at Genus Plc where she provided strategic support to the R&D and IntelliGen Technologies business and its nine manufacturing labs and research labs, across the globe including India, UK, Brazil, and the U.S. Previously, she was with Amcor Ltd for over seven years in various HR leadership roles of increasing responsibility including her last position, as Director, where she led a team through post-merger integration work involving six manufacturing sites and the corporate headquarters.

Melanie holds bachelor’s degrees in both political science and German language, literature & culture from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, and is a Senior Certified Professional by the Society for Human Resources Management. She speaks fluent German and has dual citizenship with Germany.

NANCY HILLER

PRESIDENT AND GENERAL MANAGER, AMS REGION

Nancy Hiller is President and General Manager for the Americas (North and South America) region at Accuray. In this role, Nancy is responsible for the commercial and service strategy with a focus on growing the customer install base and expanding the service and solutions business through exceptional customer service and operational excellence.

Nancy joins Accuray with nearly 25 years of healthcare experience spanning imaging and capital equipment, AI, revenue cycle, digital and workflow management. Prior to joining Accuray, Nancy spent 14 years at GE Healthcare where she most recently led the US and Canadian x-ray commercial teams. Before GE Healthcare, Nancy worked as a practice manager and revenue cycle director for private practices involved in anesthesiology, pathology, radiation oncology and pain management.

Nancy is an inclusive leader with the ability to build trust, inspire culture and drive results. She brings a demonstrated history of proven success in sales, marketing and business management highlighted by a keen sense of interpersonal dynamics that foster strong personal relationships with clients and colleagues.

Nancy holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Phoenix and a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Montana in Missoula, Montana.

MU YOUNG LEE

SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, RESEARCH AND PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

Earning the trust of the clinical teams who use radiotherapy systems is the spark that first got me into the medical device field and Accuray is the place where I continue to be motivated every day by our customers who have placed their confidence in our people and our products.”

Mu Young Lee rejoined Accuray in September 2023 as Senior Vice President, Research and Product Development. In this role, he is responsible for strategic leadership and execution of the company’s technology vision, helping to drive the development of innovative new products aligned with the needs of our customers. 

Mu has worked at universities and defense contractors, entering the medical device field in 2006 when he joined Accuray for his first stint at the company. His experience in the radiotherapy industry has spanned roles in R&D, product management, UX, product marketing, and project portfolio management. Mu has led major development programs in capital medical equipment such as designing and launching a radiotherapy treatment system that generated >$1B in business within 5 years of product unveiling. On the software front, he has led SaaS-transformation initiatives to develop web-based software medical devices for radiation oncology and neurovascular use cases.

Mu earned a Ph.D. in nuclear physics from the University of Michigan and undergraduate degree in physics from Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut.

KAZUHARU TOMARI

PRESIDENT AND GENERAL MANAGER, JAPAN REGION

“I am passionate about partnering with our amazing team to relieve the suffering of cancer patients caused by their disease. Our innovative products and solutions provide an accurate and effective treatment option that can truly improve patients’ lives.”

Kazuharu Tomari is President and General Manager of the Japan region at Accuray with responsibility for the customer-facing functional team and region P&L. He joined Accuray in 2011 as Regional Business Director for Japan and was subsequently promoted to Senior Director National Sales for Japan in 2016 before taking on his current position in 2024.

Kazuharu has over 25 years of medical device and business experience with particular expertise in sales and sales leadership. During his tenure with Accuray, Kazuharu generated the highest number of annual orders in the company’s history, exceeded annual growth targets and expanded sales channels, significantly contributing to the region’s growth. Prior to joining Accuray, he worked for LIXIL Corporation, an industrial products manufacturer, and LifeScan, a division of Johnson & Johnson.

Kazuharu earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Kobe University, in Hyogo, Japan.
